The Meesho Seller Branded Packaging Policy written below is what is mentioned on the Meesho Supplier Panel. Find it under the Settings tab.
Barcoded Transparent Packaging Policy (BP-TP)
The following terms and conditions (“Policy”) apply to the suppliers who are registered on the Meesho Platform (“You/Supplier”) for the barcoded packaging.
What is the Barcoded Packaging policy?
With effect from 9th February 2024, it will be mandatory for every Supplier to use barcoded transparent packaging (BP-TP) material sold by Meesho-recommended vendors only. The list of these recommended vendors is set out below:
You must purchase BPTP from the above websites and pack your Meesho orders in them.
Why should you use BP-TP?
The Barcoded packaging (BP-TP is high-quality packaging with a unique QR code. It serves multiple purposes and has numerous benefits, such as:
- Preventing Fraud: The packaging has tamper-proof qualities that disincentivise fraud motivation.
- Catching fraud: The unique QR code on the packaging facilitates our 3PL partners in identifying shipments wherever fraud or theft has occurred in the shipment journey.
- Reduction in Wrong RTO / Wrong Returns: Preventing and catching fraud will lead to lower Wrong RTOs and lower Wrong Returns.
- Claims: The orders dispatched in barcoded packets will only be able to raise RTO claims on the platform. (A successful dual scan in the Meesho scanning application is a must-have).
Which items are prohibited from using BPTP?
All items must be packaged in BPTP. Only the items listed here (Please access the link mentioned for such packaging.) are considered sensitive on the platform and must not be packaged in transparent packaging; they should be packed in regular barcoded packaging. If a seller makes a genuine mistake and accidentally packs a sensitive item in transparent packaging, the Meesho scanning app will show an error message on the screen then, the item will then be needed to be repackaged in regular barcoded packaging and then supposed to be dual scanned again.
What are the consequences of non-use of BPTP?
Meesho, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to take action against you, including revoking your right to raise claims for a certain period or any other action deemed appropriate at Meesho’s discretion if you fail to adhere to the following actions, including:
- Where you don’t buy BPTP from Meesho’s recommended vendor.
- Where you don’t complete a dual scan of the AWB and packet QR code from the Meesho scanning application before dispatching the shipments.
- If you pack products belonging to sensitive categories as mentioned above in our barcoded transparent packaging.
- Commit any other action in violation of this policy.
What is the Process for performing the Dual Scan before dispatch?
The process to perform a dual scan is as follows:
- Pack the product in either Barcoded transparent / Normal barcoded packaging purchased from Meesho-recommended vendors only.
- Using the Meesho scanning application, scan the AWB & Packet QR code before the 3PL comes to pick up the shipments.
