For a successful dropshipping store a strong backend is crucial. The e-mail sent to first time customers is crucial and if you miss this, you are definitely leaving a significant money on the table. E-mails are a great way to start building relationship with your customers for a lifelong loyality and brand advocacy.

Here is the four post purchase Email sequence that you should setup to avoid customers complains and enquiry. You can edit these templates based on your shipping times and information.

EMAIL 1: Thank you Sent 24 hours post purchase 

Subject: Thank you for your purchase !

Body:

We really want to thank you for your trust, and let you know what to expect next. 

We know you must be very impatient to receive your order, so here are a few useful tips and important information.

1) ORDER CONFIRMATION

After your purchase, you have received a confirmation email containing your order number. You will need this information to track your package.

If you did not receive a confirmation email, please make sure to check your spam/promotions folder.

If you still can’t find your email, please contact us at support@yourstore.com

2) ORDER TRACKING

In 24h you will receive a second email containing your tracking link. 

3) SHIPPING TIMES

The shipping time is 7-21 days depending on your country. The majority of orders are shipped to US and Europe within 9-10 days

Note: You can adapt this to your own shipping times of course, but I was working with an agent so shipping was faster than Aliexpress. The important thing is that you are very clear with the shipping times and remind them constantly.

EMAIL 2 : Tracking Sent 48 hours post purchase

Subject: Order Tracking

Body:

Click on the button below to track your order. You will need to enter:

1) The order number that you received in the confirmation email (ex: #1876 #2034 etc..)

2) The email address that you used for your order

Note: In the button, you need to put the tracking Genie URL for order tracking from your store tracking page. For that you need to install and configure the tracking genie app on your shopify store.

VERY IMPORTANT: In the Shopify – Settings – Checkout, you need to make sure that the box is checked for “Customers to checkout using email only”, otherwise a lot of customers will checkout using their phone, so they won’t receive the flow, and they won’t be able to use Tracking Genie (because no email will be associated to the order)

EMAIL 3 : Reassuring #1 Sent 1 weeks post purchase

Subject: Order is on the way!

Body:

Hey, this is “Your Store Name” !

We just wanted to let you know that your order is still on the way, and everything is normal.

Quick reminder, shipping times are between 7-21 days depending on your country.

If you have already received your order, please ignore this email.

EMAIL 4 : Reassuring #1 Sent 3 weeks post purchase

Subject: Did you get your order?

Body:

Hey, this is “Your Store Name” !

We just wanted to check in and make sure you have received your order since its been 21 days now.

[Note: You adapt this to your own shipping times of course, so if you want you can send this email after 4-5 weeks.]

If you haven’t received it yet, rest assured, it could be a slight delay, or the postman that forgot to leave a note, and the package is waiting for you at the post office.

If you have already received your order, please ignore this email.
